A beautiful thing is a joy forever as a wise man once said.
But by the same token, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's a matter of personal taste. My tastes run to the Victorian--fine china, porcelain pink roses, pearls, lace, crystal, beautiful tapestry fabrics. I'm an old vintage soul in a 50-something body! I'm often told that I was born in the wrong century! Maybe--but I wouldn't have had the luxury of cruising the Internet in the 1890's!
That's the beauty of Etsy. I've had my Etsy shops for three years and I find some of the most amazing and creative items on a daily basis. When I purchase gifts for my family--they don't always involve my tastes. There are whimsical items for my daughter. I look for foodie things like manly aprons, and kitchen items for my husband.
My tastes gravitate to vintage--things that remind me of when I was younger. I don't know how many times I have seen vintage ornaments that are identical to those that were passed down from my great grandmother.
I shop Etsy because I believe in Etsy. I have had many wonderful experiences with delightful sellers who gave me the whole "enchilada" as they say. From the time you open the box, the entire process from packaging to product is a joy. That is how I conduct my business too. And I think you will find that many of the shops on Heart Unto others team do the same. Anyone can go to a chain store, buy a mass produced item, and have it placed in a plastic bag. But... wouldn't you rather open a box that has been beautifully and thoughtfully packed from a seller who loves making unique things just for you? It's a good kind of karma. It's joy perpetuated from process to presentation.
